Researchers in the Duke Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Nutrition conduct a number of basic science and clinical studies to further the understanding of the endocrine system.

Division research is focused on the following diseases:

• Type 1 and type 2 diabetes
• Metabolic disorders of blood lipids, bone, and calcium, including osteoporosis
• Conditions of thyroid, adrenal, and pituitary glands
• Nutrition related to diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease
